Sakura, in a rush because she overslept again, is about to leave for school. Fujitaka, always the helpful dad, hopes she hasn't forgotten anything. "You haven't forgotten anything, have you?" "No, I'm okay!" Sakura suddenly looks at Fujitaka strangely, remembering that her Dad is part of Clow Reed. She thinks, "I still can't believe Dad and Eriol are reincarnations of Clow's split soul." Fujitaka wonders if he has something on his face. "Huh? Something wrong, Sakura?" Happily, she shakes her head. "Nope! It's nothing!" Rollerblading away from the house, she turns and waves to her dad. "See you later!" "See ya!" As Fujitaka is waving, he becomes aware of someone or something behind him. He turns around...and comes face-to-face with the spirit of Nadeshiko, complete with large wings. His eyes grow wide, and he wonders aloud... "Nadeshiko...?" "Yes." He rubs his eyes, sure he is seeing things, which, of course, he is. "How...how can I see you? I've always said I don't have Touya's sixth sense..." "I'll explain later. But first...I'm really happy to see you again, Fujitaka!" He hugs her as best as he can with her still floating. "Me too." ~~~~~ Meanwhile, Sakura dashes into her classroom at top speed. "Sorry I'm late!!!" Tomoyo, Chiharu-chan, and Rika-chan are clapping, while Naoko-chan holds up a stopwatch. "Very impressive, Sakura." "Yeah, you're fast." "I believe that's a new record from the school gate to the classroom!" Sakura sweatdrops. "You're okay, the teacher isn't here yet." Rika says to Sakura. "Phew! But I'm last again, aren't I?" Yamazaki-kun suddenly appears beside her. "Not quite." "Hoee?!" Sakura is quite shocked. Just at that second, Sayoran-kun dashes through the door. "Good morning!!" Yamazaki looks startled, but Sakura looks amazed. "Mornin'!" "Syaoran-kun?! It's not like you to be later than me." By way of explanation, he continues. "I got a telephone call this morning..." "From who?" He suddenly turns serious. "My mother in Hong Kong." Sakura turns serious as well. "Your mother...? What did she say?" Syaoran just looks sadly at her. "Syaoran...?" Terada-sensei bursts through the door. "All right! In your seats!" Sakura sneaks a worried glance backwards at Syaoran, but he seems to be preoccupied. Terada-sensei brings Eriol up to stand at the front of the room. "I have some sad news today. Eriol Hiiragizawa will be going back to England." Tomoyo, Syaoran, and Sakura all look appropriately shocked. "What?!" ~~~~~ Sakura talks privately with Eriol in the school gardens as soon as break comes. "I haven't figured out how to thank you yet, Eriol..." "No. I'm the one who should thank you." Sakura is a little slow on the uptake. "But..." Eriol interrupts. "Sakura, what was your first thought when you heard I was going back to England?" "Huh? I thought it was too bad..." "Then, I have a request to make." "Huh?" "What the same thing happens again--and it will--when someone close to you goes far away, think about how what you feel then is different from what you're feeling with me. If you do that, you'll understand who is truly important to you. "What do you mean?" Eriol smiles. "You'll know soon." ~~~~~ After school, Syaoran is standing in front of the school building, watching Sakura rollerblade down the street. He lifts a hand as if to stop her...and she unexpectedly turns around. "Syaoran!" "Ah!" "It is you, Syaoran!" "H-How'd you know it was me?" Sakura laughs. "Oh, just a feeling." Syaoran blushes heavily as Sakura continues. "Shall we go home together?" "Uh...yeah." Syaoran realizes it's now or never...but Sakura is still talking. "It's sad...that Eriol's going back to England. "...Yeah." He's really getting nervous now. All of a sudden Sakura realizes something. "Oh! What was it? You know...what you were going to say to me after we got through Tokyo Tower?" Syaoran knows the time has come. He moves a safe distance in front of Sakura and removes his hat. Sakura has no idea what's coming. He stutters a bit, then regains his composure. "I love you." Sakura looks stunned. "Huh..." "You're my number one. That's all I wanted to say...Be careful on your way home." He leaves her standing there, shocked. ~~~~~ Back at the Kinomoto house, Touya and Yukito are cooking dinner and talking. "I heard Ms. Mizuki is back." "Yeah. Apparently she knows Eriol Hiiragizawa. So Clow Reed, huh? That guy caused so much trouble." "Yeah. But I'm grateful to him. If he hadn't given me this form...I never would have met Sakura. Or you, Touya." Switching the subject, Yukito continues a bit more seriously. "Is Sakura still up in her room? She's been up there since she got home...What's wrong? Did something happen?" "Yup...something did." "You know what it is, don't you, Touya?" "I knew from before. And I know what's going to happen after this. That's why I didn't like that brat." ~~~~~ Up in Sakura's room, Kero-chan is trying to figure out what's up with Sakura. "What's wrong, Sakura? Tummy hurt? Low fever?" "That's not it. I'm okay." Kero doesn't appear convinced. Meanwhile, Sakura is hearing Syaoran's voice play over and over in her head. "I love you. You're my number one." "Syaoran...What does he mean to me? I like him, sure...as a good friend. Yes...but is that all? No. It's not, but this feeling...This feeling is different from what I felt for Yukito. What is it?
