Daidouji (Amamiya) Sonomi is another character of Cardcaptor Sakura who brings depth into the series. Tall with short brown hair, and usually dressed impeccably, she cuts a fine figure. Unlike her cousin, Nadeshiko, Sonomi finished high school and university and became the president of a large toy company. Since Sonomi and Nadeshiko were in kindergarten, Sonomi had vowed to protect Nadeshiko. When she found out Nadeshiko had fallen in love with Kinomoto Fujitaka, her high school teacher, Sonomi was furious. She hated Fujitaka with a passion, and when Nadeshiko died, Sonomi blamed Fujitaka. However, when she realized that Fujitaka couldn't have done anything about it, and that it really wasn't his fault, she partly forgave him. Near the beginning of the series (and the manga), Sonomi was the messenger between Amamiya Masaki (her uncle) and the Kinomoto family, but when Fujitaka agreed to meet with him, she didn't need to do that anymore. Sonomi still mourns Nadeshiko, which is why she told Tomoyo, her daughter, to keep her hair long because it reminded her of Nadeshiko. Sonomi's voice actor is Itou Miki.
