Pronunciation Notes: 'Kero' is pronounced 'KEH-roh' and 'Cerberus' is pronounced 'care-ooh-BEH-rous' in the Japanese way.

Kero-chan is a very important character, because he was the one who made Sakura the Cardcaptor. Just before Clow Reed died, he made Cerberus (Kero-chan's real form) the Seal Guardian (as well as the Appointer) of the Clow Cards. Cerberus was supposed to guard the cards after Clow Reed died, and make sure that they didn't escape. Unfortunately, Cerberus fell asleep on the job. For 30 years Cerberus slept in the book, even as it changed hands from place to place. It eventually ended up in the Kinomoto's library, which is where Sakura found it. She opened the book and immediately was caught in a whirlwind as most of the cards escaped. Cerberus was woken up, but, without the power of the Earthy and Firey cards, he was just a little stuffed-toy-like creature with wings and a tail. Sakura and Tomoyo nicknamed him 'Kero-chan' because they didn't believe that such a long name like Cerberus was fitting for a cute little creature like him ^_^. He didn't like the name at first, insisting that his name was Cerberus, but as time went on, he got used to it.

After he dubbed Sakura the new Cardcaptor, he joined her on her journey to recapture all the cards. He often gave her helpful advice on how exactly to do that, but sometimes he'd get into fights with Li-kun that ended in...catastrophe. His way of fighting back against Li-kun while in his false form was to bite onto the end of Li-kun's index finger ^_^. While in his true form as Cerberus, however, he is very powerful. In the second movie, he is easily able to overpower Li-kun and finally wins an argument. Cerberus draws his power mainly from the Firey card, as he is able to shoot blazing sheets of fire at Sakura's enemy, usually very effectively. The only person besides Sakura that can control Cerberus' power is Clow Reed. Cerberus is about the size of a lion, with massive yellow wings and a red jewel on his forehead. He usually only transforms when there is an immediate danger to Sakura, but he sometimes transforms to pose for some of Tomoyo's videos, which he enjoys watching and bragging about.

Kero-chan speaks with an Osakan dialect (it's like how people from Newfoundland speak when compared to how the rest of Canada speaks), which means he uses quite a lot of slang and grammatical shortcuts in his speech. It is a very casual, yet dramatic dialect. As well, Kero-chan loves desserts in any form, and usually stuffs his face whenever he gets the chance ^_^. He is a video-game addict, and plays whenever the Kinomoto house is empty. Sakura has made him a little bedroom in one of her desk drawers, and that's where he crashes after a long day of junk food and car-racing. Kero-chan's voice actor is Hisakawa Aya and Cerberus' voice actor is Onosaka Masaya.
