The basis of Cardcaptor Sakura revolves around magical cards, each with special powers and abilities. These cards are divided into groups based on their power. For example, there are four elemental cards: The Firey, The Watery, The Windy, and The Earthy. An elemental card has greater power than most of the other cards. The Firey and Earthy fall under Cerberus, the Sun; and the Windy and Watery fall under Yue, the Moon. In the anime, Sakura had to capture the Firey and Earthy cards before Kero-chan could transform into Cerberus, his true form. The two most powerful Clow Cards are the Light and the Dark. When Sakura transformed those two cards into Sakura Cards later on in the series, she first had to combine the powers of Cerberus and Yue with her own because those two cards were so powerful.
